| NEW ACTIVE FAMILIES SESSIONS BEGINS - February 2010 |
|
Football in the Community have been delivering Active Families for the past six months, with sessions suitable for all the family to get involved in.
The two-hour sessions are all held within City Leisure Centres and is funded by NHS Nottingham City and was developed as part of Nottingham's Early Intervention Programme. The primary aims of this programme is to get more adults and children taking part in physical activities together, particularly in areas with high childhood obesity and low physical activity levels. We have already delivered sessions at John Carroll, Harvey Hadden and Southglade Leisure Centre and this month we added Clifton Leisure Centre to the list of venues. The Clifton sessions take place every Wednesday evening from 4pm-6pm.
The Active Families project is closely linked with other Football in the Community projects. It is being used as an exit route from our other physical activity programmes "Go 4 It" and "Active Schools". For further information please visit www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk.
