| SPECIAL SCHOOLS DELIVERY RETURNS TO ACTION - February 2010 |
|
For the past five years, our Disability Football activities have been delivered as part of the Nottinghamshire Disability Football Focus Group. The group was initially established to raise opportunities and awareness for disabled people to play football.
The majority of football provision within the county will ultimately come through this working group. The group is made up of a number of different delivery agencies, with our Community scheme being by far the busiest.
The areas of work we have covered includes the delivery of the Pan Disability Squads fortnightly coaching sessions, the Disability Development Centre, work within local Day Centres and coaching activities in Special Schools. This year we have to deliver 80 hours of curriculum coaching within 4 Special Schools.
We have already begun delivering sessions in 3 of the schools with the final one, Ash Lea School in Cotgrave starting in April. On a weekly basis we are working with Derrymount School in Arnold, Carlton Digby School and a newly built Special School, Oak Field in Bilborough. |
